HR people who think they are God. News flash – You ain’t. So here’s the situation. I’m looking for some short dirty contract that will be about three months long, and has a bunch of social media marketing involved. I speak to a 25-year-old. (first mistake)

Apparently, she’s not interested in:

1. Academic qualification
2. Successful past experience
3. Awesome personality

What does she want then?

That would be over ten years of social media experience. Ten years eh? Good luck with that.

Facts – At the lowest common denominator level, as it could be argued ultimately that all media is social yadada yada, and that the all media is participatory. Media studies 101 crap.

Facebook 2004 (6 years max & you would have had to be mates with the Zuch himself)

Twitter 2006 (did anyone use it for business then?)

So this expert senior HR lady pressed the deny button on my app, on a contract I was keen for, and one that looked amusing. I wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
